Chief Justice Chancellor Issa Abu Sharar met with the delegation from "Sawasya 2" Program chaired by Director D. Christopher Decker in the presence of Judge Asad Shunnar.
Chancellor Abu Sharar welcomed the attendees indicating that High Judicial Council is working during this transitional phase on forming and structuring courts in addition to paying huge attention to improve the performance of Judicial Inspection Department considering it the corner stone for High Judicial Council and appointing new judges at all court's levels.
H.E assured the importance of cooperation and support that has been provided by "Sawasya 2" Program for justice sector and mentioned several aspects need to be developed and supported: judicial inspection, recruitment of Jordanian experts, following up legal aid and reviewing all legislations and legal regulations within available resources.
Chancellor Abu Sharar emphasized that the ultimate goal for the transitional Judicial Council is to build judiciary able to achieve effective justice and to regain public trust in Palestinian judiciary.
For his part, D. Decker thanked H.E. for his kind reception and presented a summary on "Sawasya 2" Program; presenting its phases, partners, work mechanism and tools for support and cooperation. He also confirmed that Sawasya Program will continue their support and assistance to justice sector institutions.
