Chief Justice Discusses Cooperation with EUPOL COPPS

Jan 16, 2018 – - Chief Justice Chancellor Emad Saleem Sa’ad met with Head of Mission and his delegation to discuss cooperation.

After the warm greetings, the meeting discussed the importance of ongoing cooperation between the two parties and the will of the European Union to support Justice Sector for the establishment of an independent state. They also discussed several issues such as Fair trial, legislative drafting and family protection. H.E. has also affirmed that the judiciary has several needs including specialized trainings for judges in order to develop the capacities of judiciary and he also added that they are working on establishing Judicial Training Committee.

The representatives have shown their interest in the HJC’s priorities and needs in order to provide support and they look forward to cooperate with HJC in planning and following-up procedures through providing planning and projects experts.

H.E. asserted the independency of Judiciary and Judges in addition to the infrastructure needs of southern governorates. Regarding Gaza, Chancellor Sa’ad stated that despite the unconstitutional current stage in Gaza, the Judiciary staff still has their membership in HJC.

H.E. Chancellor Emad Saleem Sa’ad expressed his deep appreciation to EUPOL COPPS for their continuous cooperation and support to Justice Sector.
